W&I / M&A Transactional Risk Underwriter

Purpose of the Role:
This exciting new opportunity requires both analytical skills and strategic thinking to work in the ever growing and competitive transaction liability market.
You will have every opportunity to develop your experience and skillset in a constantly evolving environment, while taking part in shaping the team's future through the management and growth of an existing portfolio of business.
Assess, assume and manage risk with insight and discipline which encompasses reviewing and analysing private M&A transaction documents, sale and purchase agreement and due diligence reports, prepare coverage and pricing proposals as well as negotiating and drafting bespoke warranty and indemnity insurance policy terms and language
Work closely with the Practice Head and broader team in servicing the existing portfolio of business
Support and participate in origination of new opportunities
Contributing towards the planning and execution of marketing/development initiatives
Present at external client meetings with a view to building relationships
Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders, including department heads, product heads, legal and finance
Work collaboratively with externally appointed lawyers
Train and mentor more junior team members
Required Skills:
Experience of W&I either as a solicitor, underwriter or broker or a similar advisory role in a substantial corporate organization.
Business acumen: have an ability to negotiate with commercially and legally. sophisticated brokers, advisors and clients.
Strong understanding of financials.
Excellent technical and business development skills.
Be naturally curious and extremely detail-oriented.
Ability to think strategically, commercially and critically.
Track record of high achievement in a team-based and results-oriented culture.
Strong communication skills: To assure healthy exchange of information & impediments.
Ability to effectively interact with brokerage, customer and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's, Masters or MBA degree required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
