Before & After Care Counselor - Independence Academy
Essential Duties:
Supervises and instructs assigned classes in the locations and the times designated by the Aftercare Director.
Follows the provided schedule and curriculum program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students to which they are assigned.
Creates an environment that is conducive to learning in a creative way and is appropriate to the maturity level of the students to which they are assigned.
Implements activities for the classes assigned.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of Aftercare, ensuring that each student leaves with the appropriate verified adult.
Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs as required.
Qualifications:
A minimum of one to five years related experience High School diploma or equivalency Organized, energetic, innovative and professional.
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Recommended Skills Administration Communication English Innovation Interpersonal Skills Passionate Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
