PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Area Coordinator brings life experiences, cultural sensitivity and knowledge of the families and community served.
The skills and knowledge of the Area Coordinator serve to provide leadership to multiple centers to fulfill the mission of RCMA.
The Area Coordinator ensures that the emotional climate of the programs is respectful and supportive for children, parents, and staff.
The Area Coordinator focuses on providing guidance in administration and compliance with funding sources to meet program objectives and carry out the mission and philosophy of RCMA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Work as the team leader in collaboration with the Regional Teams to:
Provide leadership and support leading to the professional growth and development of staff.
Analyze and use monitoring results to determine actions for continuous improvement and compliance.
This requires coaching Center Coordinators on Head Start Performance Standards and management system wheel.
Ensure compliance and adherence to all RCMA funding sources, assess the training needs of the Center Team and communicate needs to the Regional Team/Director.
Provides leadership and oversight for the administration of management systems as funded to children, staff, families and licensing requirements.
Establish collaborative relationships with community leaders and agencies that support positive outcomes for children, families, and staff.
Commits to professionalism and RCMA.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED and the Directors Credential Foundation level is a minimum requirement for the position.
For Directors in a center that provides VPK services- The VPK Director Credential Endorsement, VPK Education Standard Training, and Emergent Literacy for VPK will be required.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise the work of Center Coordinators that may be performing duties at various locations.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the RCMA's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
LIFE EXPERIENCES:
Use life experiences and cultural sensitivity for the families and communities served to provide leadership to multiple child development centers and other programs within a designated geographical area.
Must have 5 years of RCMA institutional knowledge working within a Center, Area or Statewide Program Quality position- preferably as a Center Coordinator, but not limited to this position.

Must be representative of the community being served, e.

, if the purpose is to provide services to farm workers, must be a former farm worker.
Able to work flexible hours, occasional evenings and varying daytime shifts during weekdays.
Some weekend work required.
Must have or be able to obtain Florida driver's license and a driving record acceptable to RCMA's insurance.
Ability to work with degreed and non-degreed professional staff and families.
Qualifications:
Experience with economically disadvantaged families in a community setting.
